PLAYFUL: Sam likes to have a good time, and that doesn't mean he has to get drunk to do it. Bubbles, small children or just a good attitude would do it. He finds the silver lining and joy in everything. Almost anything can become a joke for him.As such, he doesn't take much very seriously.

GOOD: while he might seem like an 100% joker, Sam is a good guy and will never hit you when you're down. Always willing to lend a hand or friendly conversation. He hates cruelty to animals, kids and old people. Basically, deep down he really does care, but he doesn't make a big show of it.

BLUNT: Sam's not so good at beating around the bush, and he doesn't take hints very well either. He tells it like it is and expects it back. As such his flirting style is less than covert and he won't understand subtle hints of any kind.

CULINARY: Sam is quite the cook/baker after years with his grandma, as well helping out his cooking-challenged parents. He finds it a relaxing hobby and as such, rarely buys pre-made meals.

history: He grew up the oldest of three in a very Jewish household in Los Angeles. His parents were rather poor when they moved to California to pursue Sara's dreams of working for Hollywood when Sam was born. They were also rather young, and just didn't have the resources or the time to run around Hollywood for jobs and take care of Sam. So, he was sent to live with his Grandma in Heatherfield. She sent him to private school and taught him how to cook. He loved growing up with her, and going to spend holidays and vacations back with his parents (and later, sisters).

His grandmother grew up in Stockholm, Sweden but moved to the US after she married an American soldier. Sara grew up in a Jewish and Christian household, converting to solely Judaism when she was an adult. Sam having been raised by his Christian grandmother, grew up with both traditions and continues to live that way. His parents knew she would provide for him, and she did, sending him to a good private school and paying his was through college to get a degree in Germanic Languages. His parents of course wanted him to be a good Jewish doctor or lawyer in the future, but he has no such plans to be anything they want of him. His grandmother supports his defying them.

After college, he decided to move back in with his grandmother, over his parents-- though LA might have been more his type of place. He liked cities, but he also liked the smallness of Heatherfeild and the strange people he met there. They still live together, as Sam feels he ought to return the favor for all the care he got growing up.
